Michael and Farrah

This is one of those times that no one will ever forget. Where were you when Michael Jackson died? How did you find out? I was at home working on my current book.

My son called and said, “Mom, Michael Jackson died.”

I said, “No, Farrah Fawcett died.”

He responded, “So did Michael. A friend just texted me.”

I insisted that it must be a rumor and checked the Net. At that point, all I could find was a report on TMZ’s website. That didn’t seem concrete enough to me. So I told my son I’d keep checking and call him back. I did another search and found a report on the NY Times site. Suddenly, it was becoming very real.

I called my son back and told him that it was true. From there, I went to my parents’ house and watched TV reports with my stepdad. My mom was on the phone. Later, we all talked about it.

What a strange day. I was already feeling sad about Farrah and then I was blown away about Michael.

So what are your favorite Michael Jackson songs? Mine are Thriller and Billy Jean.

My favorite Farrah Fawcett movies? The Burning Bed and Children of the Dust, which was released on DVD as A Good Day to Die.

Funny Typo

I just received a spam message that said "How to Satisfy a Girl in Beed."

Long Days and Jim Morrison

I’ve been putting in ten to twelve hour work days. On one such occasion, I couldn’t unwind to go to sleep, so I watched The Doors movie.

Here’s a fascinating old clip of the real Jim dancing his famous dance.

Photo Opportunities

Okay, here goes. Our fun-filled day at Universal Studios. Truly, we had a blast. We went on the Jurassic Park and Mummy rides and visited the House of Horrors, Shrek, Terminator and Backdraft shows/exhibits. We also rode the tram, shopped, ate way too much and took lots of tourist-type pictures.

The start of our journey. Robert, me, and Scott before we left the house. Scott is my ex's uncle, and Robert is Scott's partner. They are also my dear friends.

Universal Studios

My best guy friends asked me to spend the day there with them tomorrow. Swamped as I am with work, I decided an outing was just what I needed, so I agreed to join them.

I’ll do my best to take some pictures to post. I haven’t been on the Universal Studios tour in years. I suspect it’s goofy as ever, but that’s half the fun.

Did anyone see Conan’s first Tonight Show and the bit he did on the tour bus? Lol. Talk about goofy.
